Each chewy bar is packed with sweet apple filling, making them a satisfying choice for any occasion—whether you’re hosting a brunch or simply craving something sweet at home. With wholesome ingredients like oats and apples, these bars offer a nutritious boost while indulging your sweet tooth.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups apples (cored, peeled, and chopped)
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 14 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar (firmly packed)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the filling by melting the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Add chopped apples, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, water, and salt. Cook until apples are tender, about 5–7 minutes.
  2. For the base and topping, mix rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Integrate cut pieces of butter until crumbly.
  3. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Press half of the oat mixture into a greased baking dish. Spread apple filling evenly on top and finish with the remaining oat mixture.
  4. Bake for about 50 minutes or until golden brown on top. Allow cooling before slicing.
