Ingredients
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup 2% milk
- 1/2 cup canola oil
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 jars maraschino cherries
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 2 tablespoons maraschino cherry juice
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350ºF. Grease a 9"x5" loaf pan.
- In a medium bowl, mix sugar, milk, canola oil, egg, and almond extract until combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture until just combined.
- Drain and chop the maraschino cherries, then fold them into the batter.
- Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 50–60 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, melted butter, reserved cherry juice, and almond extract until smooth.
- Once your Cherry Bread is cooled completely, spread the glaze on top.
