  • ½ cup milk, room temperature
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen cherries, pitted and chopped
  • ¼ cup coarse sugar for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line muffin pans with cupcake liners.
  2. In one bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, blend melted butter, sugar, eggs, sour cream, milk, and vanilla.
  3. Gently fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined; do not overmix.
  4. Refrigerate the batter for about 30 minutes. Meanwhile, prepare your cherries.
  5. Fold cherries into the chilled batter and fill muffin liners using a cookie scoop.
  6. If desired, sprinkle coarse sugar on top before baking for added crunch.
  7. Bake for 18–22 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean with moist crumbs.
