  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup milk (adjust for consistency, for frosting)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare two 9-inch round cake pans by greasing and flouring them.
  2. In one bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the peanut butter and softened butter until smooth. Gradually mix in the sugar and then add eggs one at a time along with the vanilla extract.
  4. Alternate adding the dry mixture and milk to the peanut butter mixture until just combined.
  5. Divide the batter between prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pans for about 10 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
  6. For frosting, beat together peanut butter and softened butter; gradually mix in powdered sugar and milk until creamy.
