- 1 ½ cups basmati rice
- 6 pieces bone-in skin-on chicken
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2–3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 red onion
- 4 garlic cloves
- 2 cups water
- ¼ tsp turmeric
- 1½ teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon coriander
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon cardamom
- ½ teaspoon allspice
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
- Almonds (for garnishing)
Instructions
- Soak the basmati rice in a large bowl of water for at least 30 minutes.
