Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 large yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 lb fettuccine pasta
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, toss the steak cubes with olive oil, Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Ensure the steak is evenly coated.
  2. Heat a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add the steak tips in a single layer, avoiding overcrowding. Sear for 2-3 minutes per side until browned and slightly charred. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add sliced onions; cook until softened and golden (about 5-7 minutes). Add minced garlic; cook for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in chicken broth: bring to a simmer while scraping up browned bits from the pan. Reduce heat to low; stir in heavy cream and softened cream cheese. Whisk until smooth; add parmesan cheese until melted. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Return seared steak tips to the skillet: stir to combine with creamy sauce. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 10-15 minutes until tender.
  6. While steak tips are simmering, cook fettuccine pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain pasta, reserving about 1/2 cup of pasta water.
  7. Add cooked fettuccine pasta to the skillet: toss to coat with steak tips and creamy sauce. Add reserved pasta water if needed for desired consistency.
  8. Serve Smoky Cajun Steak Tips over Velvety Fettuccine immediately, garnishing with chopped green onions if desired.
